Merry Xmas! :)

Christmas is here already. Wow, that was fast. This year completely disappeared before I could even figure out what I wanted out of it. I guess I’m getting old. :(

Merry Christmas to everyone, and I hope to hear from anyone over the holidays and how happy theirs are! I’ll be taking it easy, mixing some new tracks, and playing with the Twitter app on my phone. Oh yeah, and making sure the kids are having a neat Christmas. You know, it’s really all about them anyways :)

Take a Chance…

on Possibility is done! We mixed 1 and mastered 2 songs today. Credit goes to Tim Lemos for the most awesome job on recording drums and mixing/mastering the songs for us. The finished versions of “Break Me” and “Take a Chance will be up on the various websites by the end of the weekend. Tim will have a website soon enough.

The hardest part of the whole thing was trying to get the vocals just right. The drums are amazing and the guitars are ridiculous. You’ll see what I mean. Hopefully the album will be for sale on the other various websites soon. Hopefully by February. MicroYears is right on its heels. We just need Adam to fly down to rerecord a few tracks. (an pay a much needed visit to The Lodge)

MicroYears is underway…

Adam sent me a project of melodies that he had started for a new HollywoodFireHabit (or HFH, Kim :) )song last night. I spent about an hour on it, and then had to give it a rest for the night.  Now, thinking back to the track, I have a million ideas for a direction the song should go. I am seriously pumped about this projekt, so I am going to take the most serious approach to it as possible.

I am off to start mixing some more of our first EP, “An accident Waiting to Happen” this weekend with my homeboy, Tim Lemos. Maybe I can get some more info on that guy up on my website sometime soon ;) Look out for more HollywoodFireHabit updates this weekend.

I was just reading about how the percentage of people under 40 being buried had requested to have their cell phones buried with them. I cant help but wonder about that whole scenario. For one, are you really going to have service? Under all of that dirt, and inside of a real nice and thick casket, you are going to get a signal? Then you certainly must have a bad ass cell phone…and carrier. And what if you prefer cremation? Not quite the same, huh?

OMG…

Dance kiddies, Dance!

Adam just sent me a demo for a new HollywoodFireHabit song tonight. It will be incredible. I am way, way, way excited for this. With this next EP, we are going to go back to our dance vibe… It will be Legend-wait for it…..

Dairy.

Is a new Genre for me… If you have Pandora, type in the artist “Owl City” and my new favorite radio station will begin to play. It’s soooooo good.  It’s like Depeche Mode meets Jimmy Eat World. Or NIN meets Houston Calls… or… just The Postal Service :)

I would like to take this opportunity to dedicate a song… I’m dedicating the song “Australia” by Science for Girls to my wife Kim…;) This song is not only awesome, but it makes me think about the truth of it all. I remember when I was a kid, I always wanted to go there. I was always jealous while watching the first Crocodile Dundee.. Maybe one day I’ll be able to take her back to Australia so she can show me all cool it really is.

I am excited about this fresh breath of new music for me. I never knew that there so many bands like this… The Secret Handshake, Innerpartysystem, Playradioplay!, Hellogoodbye and so many more… I’m not selling it, just sharing :)

I’m Playin’ Ketchup…

So, I finally sat down and watched The Dark Knight last night. I was truely amazing. I was worried about it being built up so much, but even knowing about all the hype, it turned out to be one incredible film. Mucho thumbs up!!!

I know, I  am totally blowing off how it took me so long to see it. But face it, I don’t really get out that much. (That’s no excuse for not seeing the new Bond film… Quantum of Solace was really good, too. Not as good as The Dark Knight or Casino Royale, but good.

Anyone up for recording a new project?

TwentyNine :(

Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me.
Maybe I look like a monkey,
But you smell like one’s pee!
