Hey there! Ok, so I haven’t blogged in a while, I know. Let’s see… I moved the recording process from the “demo” status to “recording” status since we last chatted… That’s going swell. One down and about a million to go;)
I’m trusting my producer, Tim, and looking forward to the outcome. We have a similar mind set, or taste, when it comes to putting the “pop” in the midst of inspiration. While this is my first solo release, the nervousness rushes in, knowing that the blame isn’t welcomed while I bite my tongue, as I listen to the best punk rock my iTunes library can produce to me. What I am offering the world through this album won’t even be a reflection of my most prized tunes. It will be the definition of what I have to offer as an artist. No, I don’t mean an auto-tuned rap record, but a combination of all my greatest inspirations when it comes to narrowing down my faves. Depeche Mode, Jimmy Eat World, Armor for Sleep and +(44). Just a few of my favorite things;)
I’m not afraid of what the future brings, but of what the past leaves, and this is enough suspense to destroy battleships that were built for such disaster.
I added another demo to my webpod so that you guys can get an idea of where I am going. I am truley excited about this album and I have some crazy ideas. Drewbella will even be on there. How can it get better than that?
My Friend Tim has launched his website in honor of… well, me building it for him, really. lol. Check it out @ timlemos.com. It’s a nice website and he will have samples up there to show how bad ass he is. Thats why he will be my Timbaland, once we go to work together on my album. So hot. Watch out now.
Here it is. The latest song I’ve demoed for the album. “What is this? A Center for Ants?” is ready to stream in the side bar above the Webpod. Let me know what you think!
Since I am not so good at keeping secrets, I’ll probably post another one depending on how well this one is received, lol. I love the way this one came out as a demo. It’s gonna sound different in the end, after I take it to Tim. It has a lot of room to grow, but so do the other 4 demos I have on the backburner. I just felt the need to share. Maybe it’s a cry for attention. Maybe not. Time will tell.
Finally, I am working on my dream album. I have found my niche, my spunk, my musical “mojo” if you will. I have demoed three songs that are coming along awesome and I can’t wait to share them. This time around I am more inspired than ever. It’s funny how every genre that I have ever been inspired by will be heard on this album… not as a scattered mix, but as a whole piece. I feel like I am breaking barriers that I thought couldn’t be broke. It all sounds incredibly original to me. Hopefully, I’ll post samples somewhere sometime soon. As soon as the mixing process starts, I’ll be more into the sharing. I plan to have Tim do my mixing and recording of my vocals. Maybe some co-production…?
My website has been over hauled to compliment my recent inspiration. Look out iTunes… Here I come.
…and how about the new Depeche Mode? wow.
Let’s see. The new Eminem album is really hot. Straylight Run’s new EP is really good. I love the new Dredg. And to top it all off, I have been writing some off the best material lately. My only issue is getting it off the paper and into some sort of recording. I’m working with some friends on some projekts, so I have different influences encouraging more diversity. Motivation, inspiration, and time is what it takes to be productive and I can’t seem to ever arrange these ingredients to come together.
An old friend of mine out in CA recently sent me a track to test the water on some new stuff. I really dig it, and I hope something comes out of it. It’s pretty hot, and it really brings back that DaKhamelion/Cloud IV flavor. The real BrandRezake. I can spit fire, but it only comes out every once and a while…
Another friend of mine and I are playing around with some really cool concepts that are really my cup of tea. Give me a “Clarity” Jimmy Eat World with a little “Domestica” Cursive and a sprinkle of Brandtson. Me like. Me do more.
In ther news: I am kinda bummed that Orlando lost another game, putting us down to 2-0 Lakers, but we have two home games this week. Hopefully we can turn something around.
about 5:52, lol. So, my Thanksgiving was awesome. I whomever you are reading this had a wonderful holiday as well. Mine was rather relaxing, productive, and even a little adventurous.
On the way up to Atlanta to visit some family, I was able to mix one and a half songs. That is pretty damn good, considering that I haven’t been productive on forever it seems. So, I have some ProjektKhamelion tracks coming all the more sooner…
Thanks to G’s persuasion, I decided to drop a bill the App “Beatmaker” from the App Store (iTunes) and I love it. I actually feel productive.
Beatmaker is a little midi programming application that kinda resembles Reason a little bit. I can take a drum kit, put effects on it, and whammy! Instant backing track to a song. Like my boy Garrett said, it’s like having a musical notepad with you everywhere you go…
I have yet a another track laid down, so this weekend I think that I should finish writing one of them. SOOOO, here I go again. Hopefully I feel inspired enough to produce something rather interesting….
Nothing my way to brag about. Well, except for my family. I do have the best family ever. My wife is rock, and my kids are roll.
As far as PK or anything else goes, UNPRODUCTIVE would explain it. Its all in my head though. I just need to pour it out. One day…
So I got to track a few layers for guitars on “Break Me” tonight, so that we could move on with that track. Now we should be into the remixing of another song. The fun part is that I get to learn Adam’s guitar part for “Just as Fragile” because Tim the tool man Taylor said so. The damn engineer before him really sucked at tracking guitars, apatently. LOL.
ProjektKhamelion needs some help. I think that I need a producer or something to help me complete all my songs. Creating the material is the easy part. Pulling it all together is another story all together. Maybe I’ll find myself completing something eventually. I’m kind of getting tired of doing everything halfway.
Though, I am the king of procrastination. Remember that. Write it down. (or just remember it) I need to write a new song. I’m tired of all my old ones. Ok, well goodnight;)
I had the glorious chance to record some acoustic drums to my new ProjektKhamelion track with Adam Francois of HollywodFireHabit before he takes up the big move back Jersey. We’lll miss you, bro. We had some good times. Hopefully we will still see you every once and a while.
As for the track, I’m going to put a damn date on it and say I’ll have at least a preview up on my site by the end of next week. I’m stoked. This track is something totally revolutionary for me. Look out.
